Clarke University student-athletes Morgan Bradford, of Anderson, S.C., and Travis Gabehart, of Franklin, Ind., have been named the 2012 recipients of the Ed Colbert Award, presented annually to the university's outstanding senior male and female athlete.
Bradford, a member of Coach Adam Hinders' track and field squad, is a six-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national qualifier in the pole vault. She claimed her seventh Midwest Collegiate Conference pole vault championship earlier this month in Clinton.
Gabehart was a two-time Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) All-Conference selection. He earned first team honors in 2010 and honorable mention all-conference honors this past season.
A three-time academic all-conference selection, Gabehart served as team captain for Coach
Kris Dorn's 2012 team. He had 181 kills this past year and finished his career ranked tenth on the university's all-time kills list with 751.
