Clarke University Head Baseball Coach Dan Spain has announced that former Dubuque Hempstead all-state pitcher Andrew Redman will be joining the Crusaders this fall.

Redman, who has been a part of the Iowa Central Community College baseball program the past two years, earned first-team all-state honors at Hempstead and was named the 2010 MVC Athlete of the Year. The four-year baseball letterwinner claimed MVP honors at the 1010 American Legion State Baseball Tournament.

At Iowa Central, Redman was named team captain and was tabbed as a second-team all-conference performer. He was also cited as a Distinguished Academic All-American.

Andrew is the son of Garry and Julie Redman, of Dubuque.
