Coach Don Adams' Clarke University women's basketball team improved to 2-0 Wednesday night with a 76-74 non-conference road win over Waldorf College.
Amanda Hamilton's three-point field goal with 2:42 remaining put Clarke up 72-70. After Waldorf evened things up at 72-all, Katelyn Hoppman put the Crusaders up for good with a jumper at the 1:57 mark. Anna Hahn closed out the scoring at the charity stripe.
Clarke owned a 45-30 at halftime, but Waldorf battled back in the final half and twice led by three points.
Hamilton led Clarke with 16 points. She was 6-of-9 from the field, including a 4-of-5 showing from beyond the three-point arc, and had four assists.
Hahn chipped in 15 points, while Katelyn Hoppman added 12 points and pulled down six rebounds.
Kellie Schmit led Waldorf (0-2) with game highs in both scoring (22) and rebounding (14).
Clarke will take part in the Mount Mercy Classis this Friday and Saturday in Cedar Rapids.
