Clarke College junior Erin Scheiber, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Crusader sophomore Ashley Shields, of Harvard, Ill., were named to the University of Dubuque Mississippi River Classic All-Tournament team for their performances this past weekend.

Scheiber, a 5-6 junior setter, had 156 assists, 61 digs and 13 blocks for the Crusaders, who went 3-1 at the tournament.

Shields, a 6-foot middle blocker, had 60 kills, 15 blocks and hit .331 in the four matches. She hit .474 with 10 kills in a 3-1 win over the University of Dubuque. Shields recorded 22 kills in a win over College of St. Catherine.

After dropped a 3-1 tournament opening match to Loras College, Clarke bounced back to post wins over Macalester College (3-1), College of St. Catherine (3-1) and the University of Dubuque (3-1).

Clarke will take a 20-7 record into a Tuesday night non-conference match at Beloit College.
