
Coach Chris Miron's Crusadersfinished first in the seven-team tournament, going 4-0 and winning all 12 sets. Clarke was followed by Loras (4-0, 12-1 sets), Central Methodist (3-1, 9-6), Culver-Stockton (2-2, 6-9), Ashford (1-3, 6-9), Webster (1-3, 7-12) and Mt. Mercy (0-4, 3-12).
Clarke, which has won 12 ofits last 13 matches, improved to 25-7 overall, matching last year's win total. Only the 1991 (27 wins) and 1992 (26 wins) Clarke teams have posted more wins in a single season.
Clarke recorded victories over Culver-Stockton (3-0) and Webster (3-0) on Friday, then added victories over Central Methodist (3-0) and Lawrence (3-0) on Saturday.
Clarke will wrap up regular-season play at home on Tuesday, Oct. 28, when the Crusaders entertain St. Ambrose University in a Midwest Collegiate Conference matchup.
Clarke's Keri West and Ashley Shields were named to the 10-player all-tournament team.
