Second-seeded St. Ambrose University overcame a 3-2 halftime deficit Sunday and went on to post a 7-5 home win over Clarke College in a Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament quarter final contest in Davenport, Iowa.
St. Ambrose improved to 13-4-1 with the win, while the seventh-seeded Crusaders finish the season with a 6-11-2 mark.
Clarke fell behind 1-0 before Tankiso Sekese evened thing up. St. Ambrose regained a 2-1 advantage, but Clarke's Dino Ramic scored twice to give to the Crusaders a 3-2 lead at the break.
St. Ambrose outscored Clarke 5-2 in the final half. Clarke's Abdulwali Aman scored to make it 4-4 and Ramic's third goal of the contest put the Crusaders up 5-4. St. Ambrose tallied the final three goals of the game.
Kyle Yager had a hat trick for St. Ambrose. The Bees will host sixth-seeded Viterbo University next Saturday in an MCC Tournament semifinal matchup.
