The Spirit Squad is an energetic group that encourages students to support the Clarke College Crusaders. The Spirit Squad incorporates cheerleading and dance in performances at home basketball games.   They also engage in a variety of activities off the court including: The Dubuque County Fair, homecoming, volunteer work, Cascade's Jam the Gym, Bellevue's Bleacher Blowout, The Dubuque Sports Festival, and team bonding.

The dancers involved in the Spirit Squad are also able to try out for Clarke's competition dance team. This team performs at the Iowa State Drill Team Association's yearly competition in Des Moines, IA. This year they will be competing against other Iowa private colleges in the Hip Hop category. The team is looking forward to also competing in the Pom category in future years.

A new member to the Spirit Squad is Clarke's new mascot Cutlass T. Crusader (Cuttie). Cuttie the Lion makes appearances at many student life and athletic events, as well as, Dubuque area events.
