Two members of Clarke College's 2008 women's volleyball squad have been recognized by the Midwest Collegiate Conference as All-Conference performers. Clarke sophomore middle hitter Ashley Shields, of Harvard, Ill., was a repeat selection on the first-team All-Conference list, while junior setter Erin Scheiber, of Sioux Falls, S.D., was cited as an honorable mention All-Conference performer for the second straight year.

Shields, a second-team NAIA All-Region VII selection as a freshman, led this year's squad in kills (372), kills per set (3.07), attack percentage (.266), block solos (34), block assists (78), total blocks (112), blocks per set (.93), service aces (54), total points (499) and points per set (4.12). She ranks seventh on Clarke's all-time kills list with 768.

Scheiber led Clark with 1,219 assists this season and became the college's all-time leader in assists with 3,690. She averaged a team-high 9.67 assists per set this year and had team-best 373 digs.

Coach Chris Miron's Crusaders finished the 2008 campaign with a 26-7 mark. The 26 victories equaled the second-highest single-season win total in the 29-year history of the program. The 1992 Crusaders finished 26-20.
