Women's Cross Country - Sun, Nov. 23, 2008
Clarke College freshman Katie Hemesath, of Dubuque, Iowa, placed 215th individually at the 29th annual NAIA Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  A total of 327 runners competed in the 5K national championship, which was contested at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course.
 
Hemesathe, a product of Dubuque Wahlert Catholic High School, finished the race with a time of 19:48.7.
 
Alissa McKaig, a senior from Indiana Tech, finished first with a time of 16:41.4.
 
Azusa Pacific had three runners in the top 10 to capture its first NAIA women's cross country national championship.
 
This year's national championship was hosted by UW-Parkside.
