Zareth Gray's squad with game highs in both scoring (19) and rebounding (10).
Carthage (8-3) jumped to a 44-24 halftime lead and outscored the Crusaders 40-31 in the final 20 minutes of play. Heather Gilmore hit all seven of her field goal attempts and led Carthage with 16 points.
Carthage led 7-6 in the opening half before breaking the game open with a 20-2 run in a seven minute span.
Carthage shot 53.3 percent from the field and outrebounded Clarke 42-32. Clarke shot 35.1 percent from the field.
Clarke will play a non-conference game at Robert Morris College on Wednesday before returning home to host Waldorf College in a Midwest Collegiate Conference contest on Saturday.
