The Clarke College men's volleyball team opened its 2009 Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference slate Wednesday with a 3-0 win over Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
Coach
Chris Miron's Crusaders improved to 4-1 overall with a 30-17, 30-17, 30-17 win over the host Archers.
Junior
Ethan Holly, of Tempe, Ariz., led Clarke with 13 kills and six blocks. He hit .550 in match.
Bobby Springer, a frehsman from Chicago, Ill., added eight kills and five block assists.
Clarke will host a pair of non-conference matches on Friday at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center. The Crusaders will face Carthage College at 5 p.m. and Park Univeristy at 7 p.m. Park is the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational Tournament Championship defending national champion.
