Iowa Wesleyan, 14-8 overall and 9-1 in MCC, led 36-28 at the half and extended that lead to 17 with 7:37 left in the consest. Clarke outscored the visitors 16-7 over the next four minutes and pulled within eight with 3:21 to go, but that was a close as the Crusaders would get.
Joquetta Rolle pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds for the Crusaders, who won the game rebounding battle, 52-36. Rolle chipped in 11 points.
Iowa Wesleyan committed 29 turnovers, but the Tigers shot 53.2 percent from the field, compared to 36 percent for Clarke.
Clarke (2-21, 1-9 MCC) will host William Penn University at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kehl Center.
