Clarke College senior
Emily Brown, of Delano, Calif., set a Cornell College Hilltop Open Small Center site record this past weekend in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Brown took first place in the weight throw competition with an NAIA automatic qualifying throw of 17.29 meters.
Brown's winning throw bettered her NAIA automatic qualifying throw of 17.04 meters at the University of Dubuque Spartan Invitational on Jan. 31.
Clarke's distance medley relay team of
Carley Freund (So., Crystal Lake, Ill.),
Hannah Day (Fr., Rockford, Ill.),
Samantha Leslie (Jr., DeWitt, Iowa) and
Katie Hemesath (Fr., Dubuque, Iowa) set a new school record and recorded an NAIA national meet "B" standard provisional qualifying time of 12:59.57.
Clarke's 4x800 meter relay team or Freund,
Kelsey Gleich (Fr., Cottage Grove, Minn.),
Katrina Moyna (Fr., Elkader, Iowa) and Leslie took second place with a school-record time of 10:03.79.

Morgan Bradford, of Anderson, S.C., placed second in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.04 meters.
In men's competition, Clarke freshman
Isaac Mase of Kapsabet, Kenya, set a school record in the mile run with a time of 4:43.47.
Coach Adam Hinder's men's and women's track and field teams will compete in the NAIA Challenge this Friday in Storm Lake, Iowa.
