Visiting Grand View College of Des Moines outscored Clarke College 12-2 in the final six minutes of play Saturday afternoon and came away with a 61-47 Midwest Collegiate Conference win at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center. The Vikings improved to 21-8 overall and 12-3 in the MCC, while Clarke slipped to 3-24 overall and 2-12 in league play.

Grand View led 30-27 at the break and extended the lead to nine at 49-40 with 8:29 left in the game. Clarke cut the lead to four with 6:01 to play on a Shatisha Lewis jumper, but Grand View outscored the Crusaders 12-2 the rest of the way.

Bailey Schechinger led Grand View with 21 points, while Jodi Nikkel added 15 points and pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds.

Shatisha Lewis and Laura Gaylord led Clarke with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Joquetta Rolle claimed game rebounding honors by retrieving 15 errant shots.

Grand View shot 43.8 percent for the contest, while Clarke hit just 27.1 percent of its field goal attempts.

Clarke will continue MCC play at Viterbo University on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
