Zareth Gray's women's basketball team will host William Penn University at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Midwest Collegiate Conference play-in game. The Crusaders wrapped up regular-season play Saturday afternoon with an 89-68 home loss to St. Ambrose University.
Ali Dolphin and Amy Fulfs each scored 21 points for St. Ambrose (19-10, 11-5 MCC), while Dolphin pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds.
Clarke (4-25, 3-13 MCC) jumped to a 6-0 lead, but St. Ambrose opened things up with a 23-2 run. The Queen Bees led 44-25 at the break.
St. Ambrose shot 42.9 percent from the field, while Clarke shot just 26.3 percent.
Monday's Clarke-William Penn winner will advance to Thursday's quarterfinals.
