Clarke College's 2008-09 women's basketball season came to an end Monday night following a 96-64 Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament Play-In game home loss to William Penn University. William Penn advances to MCC Tournament first round  play on Thursday with a 10-21 mark, while the Crusaders finish 4-26.
   
Christa Subbert led William Penn with a game-high 23 points. Subbert also claimed game rebounding honors with 12.
 
Shatisha Lewis scored a team-high 19 points for Clarke. Laura Gaylord and Tara Ahlf chipped in 14 and 10 points, respectively.
 
Joquetta Rolle had 10 rebounds for Clarke.
 
William Penn, which led 44-29 at halftime, shot an even 50 percent. Clarke shot just 29.7 percent.
