No. 2 Lindenwood University severed Clarke College's nine-match winning streak Saturday in the final game of the Clarke Tournament at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center. The Lions, who improved to 25-3 with their 16th straight victory, took the match 30-24, 30-27 and 30-23.
Devin Shiroma (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) led Lindenwood with a match-high 19 kills. Dan Laure (Sr., Marthasville, Mo.) added nine kills and seven blocks for the Lions.
Lindenwood outhit Clarke .267 to .089.
Lindenwood finished 4-0 in the tournament, while the host Crusaders finished 3-1.
Clarke will return to action on Wednesday, March 18, when the Crusaders host St. Ambrose University in a Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference matchup. The first set will begin at 7 p.m.
