Warner University, of Lakeland, Fla., closed the books on Clarke College's 2009 season Friday afternoon with a 3-2 over the Crusaders in an opening-round match at the Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference East Division Championship in Chicago, Illinois. The Royals claimed the match 30-27, 26-30, 30-26, 24-30, 15-10.
 
Clarke junior outside hitter Casey Sawyer, of Hemet, Calif., hit .526 and had 22 kills, 11 digs and five blocks for the Crusaders.
 
Ethan Holly (Jr., Tempe, Ariz.) and Travis Wills (So., Galena, Ill.) each had 13 kills for Coach Chris Miron's squad, which closed the season with an 18-13 mark.
