Clarke College rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday to post a 14-13 non-conference win over intracity rival University of Dubque at A.J. Spiegel Park in Peosta, Iowa.
J.D. Judd's two-run home run knotted the score at 13-all and
Michael Jimenez ended the contest with an RBI single.
Clarke improved to 17-26 with its second win this season over Dubuque (8-24).
Dubuque took a 13-10 lead in the eighth when the Spartans plated five runs. The Crusaders added a single run in the bootom of the inning.
Pete Lister singled, moved to second on a
Chris Briggs double, and scored on a fielders choice.
Nick Weyrauch held Dubuque scoreless in the ninth and picked up the win.
Jimenez had three hits and two RBIs for the Crusaders.
Orlando Mejia went 4-for-5 for Dubuque, while Shadi Abuhakmeh was 3-for-5 with five RBIs.
