Clarke College's 2009 softball season came to an end Thursday afternoon in Coralville, Iowa. Coach Liz Garthright's Crusaders dropped a 3-2,eight-inning losers bracket contest to St. Ambrose University at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament.
 
Clarke fell to Mount Mercy 8-2 in Wednesday's tournament opener, then sidelined Viterbo University 2-1 in Thursday's 11 a.m. game.
 
Clarke finished the season with a 17-28 overall record. The Crusaders were 12-17 in MCC regular-season play.
