Clarke College junior first baseman Colleen Dansart, of Oak Lawn, Ill., has been named a first-team selection on the 2009 Midwest Collegiate Conference All-Conference Softball Team, while teammates Chelsea Bettcher and Heather Steele were cited as honorable mention all-conference performers. A total of 37 athletes were named all-conference by a vote of league coaches.

Dansart led Coach Liz Garthright's Crusaders in batting average (.392), slugging percentage (.552), on-base percentage (.418), hits (56), doubles (15) and total bases (79), and ranked second on the squad in runs (28) and RBIs (24). She hit .416 in league play.

Bettcher, a senior third baseman from Dubuque, hit .312 overall and raned second in both hits (39) and on-base percentage (.376).

Steele, a senior catcher from Bellevue, Neb., led Clarke in RBIs (26) and home runs (4) this past season, and finished second in slugging percentage (.405) and total bases (49).

William Penn University featured the MCC's Player of the Year (Tyanna Helton), Pitcher of the Year (Allysa Fligg) and Coach of the Year (Mike Christian).
