Clarke College senior Emily Brown, of Delano, Calif., placed third in the hammer throw competition Thursday at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Edwardsville, Illinois. Brown, who finished second in last year's championship, registered a throw of 53.50 meters.

Aubrey Baxter, of Black Hills State, won the event with a throw of 61.48 meters, while Jean Marqueling, of St. Francis (Ind.) was second with a throw of 54.82 meters.
