Clarke College's 2008-09 women's volleyball team has been recognized for its academic excellence by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Coach Chris Miron's squad was one of 409 teams that earned the AVCA Team Academic Award.
 
Clarke's women's volleyball team carried a 3.581 grade-point average during the 2008-09 academic year.
   
The program honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
 
A total of 35 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) teams were cited by the AVCA.
