Clarke College sophomore Katie Hemesath, of Dubuque, Iowa, finished second at the William Penn University Cross Country Invitational this past Saturday in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Hemesath, a product of Wahlert Catholic High School, finished the race with a time of 17:01.

A total of 54 runners competed in the event, which was contested at the Lacey Sports Complex.

Obsie Birru, of Grand View University, claimed first place with a time of 16:23.

Mount Mercy College claimed the team title.

Clarke will compete in the St. Ambrose University Invite on Saturday, Oct. 24.
