Kaylee Steen combined in goal to lift Clarke College to a 3-0 Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Championship win over William Penn University Saturday in Dubuque. Coach
Sean Esterhuizen's Crusaders, the tournament's No. 2 seed, will now host a semifinal game on Saturday, Nov. 7, against third-seeded Grand View University. Grand View posted a 3-0 opening round win Saturday over Waldorf College.
Clarke, 8-6-4, took a 1-0 lead at the 19:40 mark in the opening half on an own goal. Sullivan, a freshman from Pasco, Wash., made it 2-0 five minutes later with an unassisted goal. That score stood up until Sullivan closed out the scoring at the 60:13 mark with a goal on an assist from
Georgina Reed.
Clarke outshot the Lady Statesmen, 4-1.
William Penn finishes with a 7-10-1 mark.
The MCC Championship championship game will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
