
The Clarke College women's volleyball team wrapped up regular-season play Monday night with a 3-2 Midwest Collegiate Conference home victory over Ashford University. Clarke took the match 18-25, 26-24, 25-19, 17-25, 15-11.
Clarke junior Ashley Shields had a match-high 21 kills and hit .312 for the Crusaders, who improved to 16-20 overall and finished MCC regular-season play with a 1-7 mark. Shields had four blocks and 11 digs and finished with a match-high 26.5 points.
Abby Nauman added 10 kills for Clarke. Hannah Grow had 42 assists and Heather Jansen had 22 digs in the win.
Allison Uceda had a team-high 17 kills for Ashford (21-17, 4-4 MCC).
Clarke will open MCC Tournament play on Thursday, Nov. 5, when the Crusaders travel to Forest City, Iowa, to face Waldorf College. The winner will face top-seeded St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, in an MCC Tournament first round match on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The MCC Tournament semifinals will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 11, with the championship game set to be contested on Saturday, Nov. 14.
