Christopher Uffman - Head Bowling Coach

Clarke College Athletic Director Curt Long announced today that Christopher Uffman has been named the college's head men's and women's bowling coach. Long had previously announced that the college will add intercollegiate bowling to its lineup in the fall of 2010.

Uffman, a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., comes to Clarke from Michigan State University, where he served as the head women's bowling coach from May of 2006 through the fall of 2009. He also served as the assistant head coach of the MSU men's intercollegiate bowling program during that same time period.

"Chris brings collegiate experience and great enthusiasm to our new bowling programs," said Long. "He has an opportunity to build both teams from the ground floor in a fast emerging sport."

A 2007 graduate of Michigan State, Uffman was a four-year member of the school's intercollegiate bowling program. He qualified for the 2009 Michigan Masters Bowling Tournament finals, is an Amateur Bowlers Tour title holder and has two certified 300 games.

Uffman spent 11 years as a certified and practicing youth bowling coach in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Lansing, Michigan.

An avid promoter of bowling at all levels and a regular participant in regional Professional Bowling Association events, Uffman currently holds a Silver level coaching certificate through the United States Bowling Congress.

Uffman received his bachelor of science degree in psychology from Michigan State.
