Five members of Coach
Sean Esterhuizen's Clarke College soccer program have been named 2009 Daktronics-National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Scholar-Athletes.
Named to the scholar-athlete list from Clarke were seniors
Kraig Moore, of Kennewick, Wash.,
Lindy Stauffer, of Hyrum, Utah, and
Natasha Waters, of Dubuque, Iowa; and juniors
Shannon Ford, of Woodridge, Ill., and
Katie Schmidt, of Mokena, Illinois.
A total of 256 men's soccer student-athletes earned scholar-athlete honors, while 387 women's soccer student-athletes were cited as scholar-athletes.
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior status to qualify.
