Michelle Jamison's jumper as time expired lifted Clarke College to a 63-61 Midwest Collegiate Conference road win Thursday over Viterbo University. Jamison, a sophomore guard from Martham, Ill., tallied 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Crusaders, while
Casey Breitbach added 16 points.
Clarke (4-17, 1-6 MCC) led by as many as 18 points in the opening 20 minutes of play and owned a 38-29 lead at the break. Viterbo battled back and took its first half of the final half with just over six minutes left. Coach
Zareth Gray's squad built the lead to five with two minutes showing on the clock, but the host V-Hawks evened things up at 61-all with a pair of free throws with seven seconds remaining. That set up Jamison's game-winning shot.
Dani Templin led Viterbo with a game-high 26 points. Katina Mandylaris claimed a game-high 12 rebounds to lead Viterbo to a 45-26 adavantage on the boards.
Clarke shot 47.3 percent for the field, while Viterbo hit 40 percent of its shots.
Clarke will host St. Ambrose University at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
