Dubuque Hempstead High School's Casey Olmstead will further her education and basketball career at Clarke College  next fall. Olmstead, a 5-6 guard, signed a letter of intent Tuesday to join Coach Zareth Gray's basketball program.
   
A three-time team captain at Hempstead, Olmstead earned Mississippi Valley Conference honorable mention all-conference honors and was a TH all-area honorable mention pick following her junior season.
 
Olmstead was an MVC academic all-conference selection at Hempstead and served as a Mustangs' varsity football manager for three years.
 
Casey is the daughter of Todd Olmstead and Brenda Newton, of Dubuque.
