Kris Dorn's Clarke College men's volleyball team went 2-0 Monday on the opening day of the Grand Canyon University Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. Clarke, ranked No. 3 in this week's NAIA/AVCA Poll, improved to 14-3 overall with wins over host Grand Canyon University (31-29, 28-30, 30-26, 30-22) and No. 2 Hope International University (30-28, 31-29, 30-28).
Wills hit .321 for the Crusaders, who outhit the hosts .204 to .121.
Wills added a match-high 16 kills in win over Hope Inernational.
Bobby Springer contributed 10 kills and four blocks.
Clarke will continue tournament play Tuesday, facing Hope International at 4 p.m. and Grand Canyon at 7 p.m.
The tournament will conclude on Wednesday.
