03.08.2010 - [Men's Bowling]

Clarke College Head Bowling Coach Chris Uffman has announced the signing of the college's first two recruits for the Crusaders' inaugural 2010-11 season. Uffman announced today that Minooka Community High School products Jonathon Heidler, of Channahon, Ill., and Tyler Heintzelman, of Shorewood, Ill., have signed letters of intent to enroll at Clarke next fall and join the Crusaders' bowling program.

"Jon and Tyler are our first two recruits, so we're excited to have them signed," said Uffman. "Both families are very involved in the game of bowling and are excited about our program. In a sense, we've signed our first two bowlers and our first four parents."

Heidler earned Southwest Prairie Conference All-Conference honors and was an Illinois High School sectional champion this year. He owns the second-highest game (298) and series (757) total in school history. Heidler's 742 series this season is the third highest series in program history.

Heidler placed 39th individually at state.

A member of the school honor roll, Jonathon is the son of Rick and Tracy Heidler, of Channahon, Illinois.

Heintzelman picked up three varsity letters as a member of the Indians' bowling program and was a three-time honors athlete. He owns the school record series high of 759. He was the All-Conference champion with a total pin count of 1,408 and led the league with a 230 average. Heintzelman placed seventh in sectionals and 25th at state.

Tyler is the son of David and Deb Heintzelman, of Shorewood, Illinois.

Minooka placed second at sectionals this year and finished seventh at the state tournament.
