Clarke College Head Bowling Coach Chris Uffman has added another local athlete to his growing list of hopefuls for the Crusaders inaugural campaign. Uffman has announced that Zach Althaus, a three-time state bowling participant at Dubuque Wahlert Catholic High School, will transfer to Clarke from the University of Northern Iowa and join the Crusaders' bowling program.

A 2009 graduate of Wahlert Catholic, Althaus was a four-year bowling letterwinner for the Golden Eagles. Althaus qualified for state as an individual as a freshman and was a member of Wahlert Catholic's state runner-up team as both a junior and senior. He placed seventh individually at state as a senior.

Althaus was a four-year letterwinner in bowling and a two-time letterwinner in baseball. He was a two-time Mississippi Valley Conference Academic All-Conference selection and was named the recipient of the Grant Vogt Scholarship.

Zach is the son of Rick and Pat Althaus, of Dubuque.

Uffman earlier announced the addition of Dubuque Hempstead state champion Stephen Habel, Tyler Heintzelman, of Shorewood, Ill., and Jonathon Heidler, of Channahon, Ill., both products of Minooka Community High School.
