Clarke College's women's 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle team claimed first place and Crusader sophomore
Katie Hemesath, of Dubuque, took second in the 3000 meter steeplechase with an NAIA B standard qualifying performance Friday at Day 1 of the Viking Olympics in Rock Island, Illinois.
Hemesath completed the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:49.91.
Clarke sophomore
Morgan Bradford, of Anderson, S.C., took second in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.25 meters, while Clarke's 4x800 meter women's relay team placed third.
Clarke's 4x800 meter men's relay team finished fourth.
The final day of competition will begin at noon on Saturday.
