Matt Werner Signs Letter of Intent

Clarke College Head Baseball Coach Chad Harris has announced the signing of Matt Werner, an incoming freshman from East Jordan, Michigan. Werner is a 6-foot, 165-pound utility player who will also get some work on the mound.

Werner primarily played shortstop and second base at East Jordan High School, where he received all-conference, all-district, all-area, and all-region awards.
 
"This recruiting class includes a lot of young middle infielders and Matt fits right there with those guys," said Harris. "Though he is coming in as a middle guy, he has enough athleticism to be moved around a little if that is what we need to do."

Werner, who will pursue a degree in business, is the 14th signee for this year's recruiting class, the 12th freshman of the class.
