Clarke University freshman Brittany Collier, of Oswego, Ill., has been named the 2010 Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Year, while Crusaders Travis Ferrell and Eli Fitzsimons garnered MCC honorable mention all-conference honors.
   
Collier, a 5-6 guard, averaged 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for Coach Don Adams' Crusaders. She averaged 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals per contest, while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 70.1 percent from the charity stripe.
 
Ferrell, a 5-11 senior guard from Sanger, Calif., averaged 5.6 points per game this winter and led Coach Jerry Drymon's Crusaders in both assists (98) and steals (36). Fitzsimons, a 6-1 senior guard/forward, averaged 9.5 points and had 42 three-point field goals this past season.
 
A total of 19 men and 18 women received all-conference honors.
