Don Adams' Clarke University women's basketball team broke into the Mdwest Collegiate Conference win column Saturday afternoon with an 82-68 road victory over William Penn University.
Amanda Hamilton scored a game-high 19 points and
Cassie Carlson and
Brittany Collier added 14 and 11 points, respectively, for the Crusaders, who improved to 4-14 overall and 1-6 in league play. Carlson pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and had three assists and three steals. Collier had seven assists, five steals and six boards.
Clarke led 28-22 at halftime and never trailed in the final 20 minutes of play.
Orielle Thomas led William Penn (4-14, 2-5 MCC) with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Reed Taylor pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds and added 11 points for the Statesmen.
William Penn posted a 102-88 win in the men's contest. Elliott Carr led Clarke with 19 points.
