Clarke University swept a Midwest Collegiate Conference men's/women's basketball doubleheader from Ashford University Saturday afternoon at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center.

Jerry Drymon's men's squad outlasted the Saints, opening a five-game home stand with an 85-80 double-overtime win. Coach
Don Adams' women's team started a four-game home stand off on the right note, posting a 73-64 win.
DJ Nunn scored 20 points,
Luke Cassedy 15 and
Kris Brooks 12 as Clarke improved to 15-9 overall and 7-7 in MCC play. Cassedy was 4-for-4 from beyond the three-point arc.
Neither team led by more than seven points in the contest. Ashford led by seven with 16:23 left in the opening half, while Clarke went up by seven with 11:18 left in regulation and again in the first overtime.
Ashford led 32-26 at intermission and the Saints tallied the final point with 49 seconds left in regulation to send the contest into its first overtime.
Cassedy's three-point field goal with 1:29 left in overtime put the hosts up 73-66, but Ashford outscored the Crusaders 8-1 to force a second overtime. Jonathan Wyatt's trey with 10 seconds left evened the score at 74-all.
Clarke outscored Ashford 11-6 in the second overtime to claim the victory.
Javier Valdez led Ashford (17-9, 9-5 MCC) with a game-high 23 points. Wyatt chipped in 16.
Clarke will host Emmaus Bible College on Monday.

Anna Hahn scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Crusaders in the women's matchup. Hahn hit 10-of-12 shots from the field and was 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
Clarke shot 52.8 percent from the field and outrebounded Ashford 36-24.
Brianne Boals pulled down seven rebounds for the Crusaders.
Clarke (6-19, 3-11 MCC) led 32-29 at halftime.
Quinn Rear led Ashford (9-16, 5-9 MCC) with 24 points, while Madison Wagner added 15.
Clarke will host Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday.
