Chris Miron - Head Coach

Chris Miron is in histhird season as the head men's volleyball coach at Clarke College. He earned Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Coach of the Year honors in 2006 after leading his men's squad to the Coleman Division regular-season championship.

Mironalso serves as the head coach of the Crusaders' women's volleyball program. His 2007 squad set a schoolmark for winning percentage (.694, 25-11) and the team's 25 wins was the program's third highest single-season total. Miron led his 2005 women's team to a third-place finish at the Northern Illinios - Iowa Conference tournament.

A native of Dawson, Minn., Miron formerly served as the assistant volleyball coach at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He was as a volunteer assistant coach from 2000 to 2002, and was named the Eagles' assistant coach in June of 2003.

Miron had served as a K-8 physical education teacher and as a pre-K-12 adaptive physical education teacher with the Caledonia (Minn.) Public School System since 1999. From 1999 to 2003, he was the head volleyball coach at Caledonia High School. In his four-year coaching stint at Caledonia, his squad's compiled a 92-29 overall record and a 34-9 mark in
conference play. Miron coached his teams to tournament, conference and sub-section championship matches.

Miron played collegiate volleyball at Winona State University. During his playing career, Winona State qualified for the National Intramural Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA) Club National Tournament in 1996 and 1997, and was consistently nationally ranked by the NIRSA governing committee.

In his two years as an assistant at UW-La Crosse, the Eagles compiled a 64-12 overall record, captured two NCAA Midwest Region championships and advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 in both 2003 and 2004. UW-La Crosse won the 2003 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) tournament championship and was the WIAC regular-season co-champion.

Miron received his bachelor of science degree in physical education, adapted physical education and coaching from Winona State University, and his master of science in education degree in exercise and sports science and physical education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Joe Collier - Assistant Coach

Joe Collier, of Oak Lawn, Ill., is in his second year as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's volleyball programs at Clarke.

A 2006 graduate of Clarke, Collier was a three-year participant in the Crusaders' men's volleyball program. This past winter, Collier shared the team lead in games played (77) and led the team in reception percentage (.960). He was a 2006 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) preseason All-Conference selection.

Off the court, Collier was an ESPN The Magazine Second-Team Academic All-America selection this past year. He was a three-time MIVA Academic All-Conference pick.

Ed Frederick - Assistant Coach
Former Clarke College standout Ed Frederick is in his first season as a volunteer assistant with the Crusaders' men's volleyball program. Frederick earned Mid-America Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) first-team All-Conference honors in 2008 as a senior. He led Coach Chris Miron's 2008 Crusaders in kills (366), kills per game (4.46), block assists (80), total blocks (107), service aces (23), digs (157) and reception percentage (.956).
 
Frederick finished his career with 1,005 kills, the fifth highest total on the school's all-time list.
