CHAMPS Meeting Minutes January

Call to Order: 8:00pm

I. Service Projects-Coach Garthright

a.) Every team must complete a service project before the end of the school year

b.) Two teams have completed them: Dance- Humane Society and Softball- Boys and Girls club

c.) Fill out the paperwork before performing the volunteer work

d.) If you are unsure about what to do talk to softball coach Liz Garthright to brainstorm

II. Service Project of the Year

a.) All teams that complete a service project are eligible for award

b.) Team reps will vote at the end of the year for the best service project

c.) Winning team receives $40 for their team to use for whatever they wish

III. Event with CREATE

a.) Pack the Place/Build-a-Bear event with CREATE

b.) Encourage people to come and wear blue and gold to Men's and Women's basketball games on Saturday, February 2^nd at 1 and 3pm

c.) Stay after for pizza and to make stuffed animals of Cuttie the Crusader

IV. Adopt-A-Highway

a.) Still in the works for this semester when weather is warm

V. Kid's Day

a.) Date TBA; most likely during April when Spring Sports have a home game

b.) Committee was given list of expectations

c.) If your team wants to count sports day as their service project they must:

i. Turn in the necessary paperwork

ii. Have at least half of their team present at the event

VI. Student Athlete of the Month

a.) Nominations

b.) Winner: Dustin Brown
