Meeting Minutes: October 12, 2008

7pm at Rose O'Toole Hall

Teams Present: Men's Volleyball, Baseball, Women's Soccer, Men's Track, Dance, Softball, Women's Golf, Women's Volleyball, Men's Cross Country, and Women's Cross Country

Agenda:

I. T-shirt Design Passed Out: Good responses

a. Need to get budget approved so we can get the shirts made

II. Highway Clean Up: Sunday October 19^th

a. Announced to reps to get as many team members as possible to help out

b. Meet at Kehl Center front lobby at 12:30, hope to finish around 3:30

III. Poster board Committee

a. Group will get together to make up monthly/weekly poster boards announcing upcoming sporting events; Poster boards will be placed in by the Kehl Center front desk

i. Committee Chair: Rebecca Harman

ii. Members: Becca Bahl, Paige Kack, Hannah Grow

IV. Service Projects

a. Softball and Cross County have completed their projects;

i. Softball volunteered at the DGIL fields

ii. Cross country helped at the Mississippi Run

b. Reminded athletes of what needs to be done in terms of getting project approved PRIOR to completing

V. Sport Updates:

a. Baseball: finishing up fall season

b. XC: 2 meets left in the season; have an invitational at the Dubuque Soccer Complex this weekend

c. Men's VB: Continuing with pre season training and open gyms

d. Softball: finishing fall season up this week

e. Women's VB: Continuing well in season; Senior night is on Tuesday night

f. Dance: continuing to work on routines and competition team has been picked-working on stunt squad for games

g. Soccer: Senior Day was this past Saturday; Women's team is currently 5^th in conference; last home game is this Wednesday vs. IA Wesleyan

h. Women's Golf: Finishing up season; Conference tournament was on Sunday 10/12 and Monday 10/13/08

i. Track: Continuing with conditioning; Recently completed fundraiser; Track dance is on Halloween night from 9-1 in the Lion's Den

VI. Student Athlete of the Month for October: Ashley Kass-Women's Soccer

a. Other nominees: David Eck (Men's VB), Keri West (Women's VB), Bethany Wittenauer (Dance), Chelsea Bettcher (Softball), Emy Kostka (Women's Golf)

VII. Asked for ideas for possible CHAMPS events; will hear more at next meeting

a. December 1: Pack the Place for the Clarke vs. Loras Men's Basketball game

VIII. Meeting adjourned at 7:30; next meeting is November 9 at 7pm in West Locust
