Coach Matt Adams is in his second year as the assistant track and field coach at Clarke College. Adams is responsible for all aspects of the throwing events and the pole vault. Prior to comingto Clarke, Adams was an athlete at the University of Oregon and at Glendale Community College.
Adams was selected to the 2005 PAC-10 All-Academic team. In 2007, he received the Scholar-Athlete Award and is a lifelong member of Chi Alpha Sigma for recognition of high academic and athletic achievements while at the University of Oregon.
In 2008, Adams guided five national qualifing performances (indoor and outdoor pole vault, 35lb. weight throw, hammer throw, and discus throw) and two All-Americans (No. 2: 35lb. weight throw and No. 2: hammer throw). In addition, five first-team MCC All-Conference performances, two MCC Records, and five Clarke school records.
Adams received an associate of arts degree in general studies from Glendale Community College in 2004 and his bachelor of science degree in sociology from the University of Oregon in 2007.
