Zareth Gray - Head Coach - 3rd Season

Zareth Gray is in her third season as Clarke College's head women's basketball coach. Gray came to Clarke from the Bevill State Community College, Fayette, Ala., where she served as the head women's basketball coach for two seasons.

A native of Fairfield, Calif., Gray led her 2006-07 Bevill State squad to a 19-13 record this and was named the 2007 Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) North League Coach of the Year. Her recruiting class of 10 freshmen posted a second-place finish in the ACCC North League and earned a berth in the Region 22 Final Four Tournament. In three seasons prior to Gray's arrival, the Lady Bears averaged eight wins per year.

Gray was a four-year varsity basketball letterwinner at Michigan State University, where she played in 103 contests. As a sophomore, Gray was a member of the 1994 Big 10 All-Star team that toured Europe. She started 13 games as a junior, was named the Spartans' most improved player, and averaged 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. The following season, Gray averaged 8.6 points and four rebounds on Michigan State's 1996 NCAA Tournament team that advanced to the tournament's second round.
 
Gray played professional basketball for the DJK Wuerzburg X-Rays in Wuerzburg, Germany during the 1998-1999 season. Gray finished tenth in rebounding in Germany's Women's Basketball League first division.

Prior to taking the Bevill State coaching reins, Gray served as the assistant women's basketball coach at East Central Community College, Decatur, Miss., during the 2004-05 season. East Central finished 20-10 overall and was ranked as high as seventh nationally.

Gray has also held assistant women's basketball coaching positions at Southern Illinois University (2003-04), Wichita State University (2001-03), Eastern Illinois University (1999-2001), and Ball State University (1996-98).

Gray received her bachelor of science degree in merchandising management from Michigan State University and has completed 30 hours toward her master of arts degree in athletic administration at Ball State University.
