Iowa in the early months of the year isn't the ideal place for outdoor sports unless you're skiing, skating, or bobsledding. So the Clarke University softball team decided to take advantage of their spring break and head south. The Crusaders played 10 games in Clermont, Fla., and went 4-6 in those games. Two of the ten were extra-inning, one-run games. One of those extra-inning games was the season opener against Hannibal-LaGrange University.

Clarke University sophomore Danielle Stralow tossed a complete-game one-hitter Sunday to lead the Crusaders to a 3-0 win over Hannibal-LaGrange University at the NTC Games in Clermont, Florida. The victory followed the Crusaders 7-6, nine-inning season opening victory over Lourdes University.
