Two members of Coach Zareth Gray's women's basketball team have received Midwest Collegiate Conference honorable mention all-conference honors. Seniors Casey Breitbach, of Dubuque, Iowa, and Joquetta Rolle, of Cocoa, Fla., were among 21 players cited today by the MCC.

Coach Zareth Gray's Clarke College women's basketball team will open Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament play tonight (Thursday) in Des Moines, Iowa. The seventh-seeded Crusaders will face No. 2 seed Grand View University at 7 p.m. in quarterfinal action.

A 5-7 post player isn't a typical sight on a college women's basketball team and might lead opposing players to underestimate that player's rebounding ability. But no one is underestimating Clarke College senior Joquetta Rolle, who has ranked among the national leaders in rebounding the past two seasons.

Dubuque Hempstead High School's Casey Olmstead will further her education and basketball career at Clarke College  next fall. Olmstead, a 5-6 guard, signed a letter of intent Tuesday to join Coach Zareth Gray's basketball program.

Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week Michelle Jamison scored a game-high 26 points and Joquetta Rolle added 19 points and a game-best 13 rebounds Monday night to lead Clarke College to a 76-66 home win over Ashford Unversity. The victory was the third straight for Coach Zareth Gray's Crusaders, who improved to 6-17 overall and 3-6 in MCC play.
